The confusion of the surface world can easily conceal the depth that lives within. It is worth making the act of pausing a daily practice — just long enough to surrender to genuine honesty and allow a clear recognition to arise.
The way I live, what I do, what I desire — the way I treat myself and others, the way I feel and think — is it truly right? Is it true? If yes, why? If not, why not?
Such moments of stopping gently pull us out of the unquestioned current and distraction of the surface flow. We cannot find real answers at the same level where our questions were formed — we must be willing to immerse ourselves more deeply.
Questions born at the surface should not be handled superficially. Instead, we can allow them to be permeated by truth. There are times when what feels like a clear “yes” today may later become a “no.” This ongoing, deepening relationship with ourselves becomes a source of richer and more penetrating experience — even within a busy and fast-moving world.
What we consider self-evident now may change in the light of deeper wisdom. In this way, what appears to be a pause is actually a gateway to very real and dynamic progress.
Often we believe we have already moved beyond certain things — until we discover that we have not. Wisdom also includes the courage of vulnerability: the willingness to meet our most fundamental questions again and again, and to reinterpret them when needed.
With love,
your traveling companion
